My Guest Post at SatelliteWP: Colour in Website Design

Post by Alison Knott | January 25, 2019

Who doesn’t love to learn more about colour in web design?

The fine folks over at SatelliteWP asked me to weigh in on the topic as a guest blogger.

Indeed, we all tend to take colour for granted, especially our skills in working with it. However, a few designer trade secrets can turn your colour efforts from ‘meh’ to ‘holy wow’. Especially to help with conversions. “Looking good” should never overshadow the need for content that converts, and my article outlines a few ways to use colour for maximum return. Some topics I cover include:

  • Neat, free tools you can use to dive deeper into colour selection and use
  • How to tell if your colour combinations are doing your site a disservice
  • Tips on what parts of a website to apply accent colour to

SatelliteWP is a Montreal-based company that specializes in WordPress maintenance (affiliate link). I owe a lot of my professional development to the amazing guidance of owners Jean-Francois and Maxime. I was honoured to be able to contribute to their excellent blog. It’s full of helpful content for all levels of site owners.
