B2B marketing support for small teams with big goals.

Helping your people make informed decisions, build confidence, and get more from the work they're already doing.

When it comes to marketing, small teams have a HUGE advantage over bigger teams: you're nimble.

You can make decisions faster, change course without loads of approval, and collaborate with others internally more quickly then the bigger orgs.

As an executive or operational leader, you know your people are capable of applying this to attract more clients or members. The problem is a lack of senior marketing leadership to help them get there.

So is it possible in 2026 to make big marketing waves with the team you already have?

Darlin', I know so!

Alison-K-and-friend

Hi, I'm Alison Knott: sprinkling marketing strategy and guidance over your team's existing magic.

For 15 years, I've been adapting the best bits of B2B marketing to help organizations doing meaningful work get the attention, trust, and business they deserve. I've seen tiny teams accomplish extraordinary things. Sometimes they just need someone from the outside to help see what's possible, make a few tough decisions, and get moving.

Especially if the your team fits one of these situations:

You don’t have anyone dedicated to marketing, so sales, admin, and leadership try to share the responsibilities.

You have an eager junior person who can execute, and you want to see them grow into a more pro-active role.

You have a wonderful seasoned person you believe could accomplish even more with the right support.

Reinvest in the people and projects you already have with a Marketing Clarity Program

They'll agree on what's priority, what needs to get done, and have the confidence to do it. This is because they'll work 1:1 with a marketer specializing in B2B services requiring a nuanced marketing approach.

Marketing Clarity Programs are highly custom team to team, but here are some examples of what teams wanted, and what we actually did about it:

  • Create reporting that proves marketing is contributing to strategic goals so you can ask (and get) a bigger budget.
  • Attract a new (and growing) audience segment by adjusting the existing social and email marketing strategy to be more relevant.
  • Increase trust and familiarity during sales calls by adding more advocacy messaging in content.
  • Turn a 'switch newsletter systems' project into a larger cross-org strategic event for greater alignment and collaboration.

Here's how the Marketing Clarity Program works:

#1 Everyone gets heard: your team and your ideal audience.

I survey team members individually to understand their goals, frustrations, ideas, and what they believe is (and isn't) working.

Then I put on my prospective-customer hat and audit your marketing. Does your messaging make sense? Are opportunities being overlooked? Are your expectations realistic?

Now we have a clear picture of where things actually stand.

#2 We decide what matters most, together.

Here's where we meet together during a Clarity Session.

We'll look at the opportunities worth pursuing based on their potential impact, existing resources, and what your team has the capacity and motivation to tackle.

We'll be selective. I'll challenge assumptions, ask the awkward-but-useful questions, and help everyone agree on what deserves their attention.

Just as importantly, we'll decide what doesn't.

#3 Everyone gets a personal plan they can act on.

No vague recommendations or 50-page strategy documents. Each team member gets their own Action Plan detailing what to update, revisit, or improve. Complete with practical steps and clear expectations.

The work is designed around their skills and available time, so they know exactly what to do and why it matters.

Teams tell me this a great first step towards building marketing operations, too!

Bonus: I stick around to help make it happen.

A plan is only useful if people feel motivated to put it into action.

I'll provide advisory & accountability as your team gets to work. I'll help people work through roadblocks, provide feedback, celebrate progress, and keep leadership informed so everyone can see what's moving forward.

Leadership tell me this provides peace of mind (and frees up their day!).

Headshot of Diane Connors

"When we started working with Alison, we were struggling with how to manage a transition of our email marketing system with some upgrades and improvements. Alison helped us to tease apart the questions we needed to spend time with, and she helped us to answer those questions as well.

We so appreciate Alison's upbeat and friendly personality, which is a huge asset when working through something that can feel as frustrating and challenging as tech and digital marketing work! We can't wait to work with Alison again to ensure we can do our best work, supported by a good foundation of digital system design."

- Diane Connors, Director of Communications
Impact Organizations of Nova Scotia

Heashot of Ashley Pettipas

"Alison connected the dots on how we share content to our target audience and measure results. Her consulting really helped simplify our messaging with stronger clarity, both through our website and social media. Her ability to field any technical or mundane questions I had in an encouraging manner helped me drill down deeper into how it all works."

- Ashley Pettipas, Operations & Digital Media Coordinator,

Consoul App team

"The biggest takeaway from our time together was Alison's ability to simplify complex strategies and guide us in creating a plan we feel confident in executing. I had numerous 'Aha!' moments, but the one that resonated most was her advice that even if you have just 20 minutes a day, engaging with your social network's content can help build your communities. Additionally, she generously provided practical tips on updating our website and leveraging our personal brands to create genuine connections."

Headshot of Barry Braun

"We are a tiny team with a big heart and a big goal. Alison made us look like we are a big team with a big heart and a big goal. She understood our 'uncommon' purpose and worked with us to simplify our messaging on our site and newsletters. She's educated our interns and volunteers on a variety of things that helps tell our story and attract the people we need to succeed in our goals. Alison knows her stuff; she has a bright spirit and incredible talent and intuition on how to put your web site to work for you."

- Barry Braun, Founder of The Happy Community Project

One last thing: you don't need more marketing... you need more from your marketing.

More leads from relationships already built. More opportunities from content already created. And less half-finished projects or conversations that end with "we really should do something about that."

That's not me passing judgement. I get it. I've been the junior designer, salesperson, marketing manager, and business owner. I understand juggling priorities and expectations. It's hard to spot opportunities (let alone feel excited about them) when you're in the weeds!

That's where a fresh perspective can make all the difference. I've worked with, advised, and mentored nonprofits and businesses of all sizes, from hyper-local to national. I specialize in connecting what you offer with what your audience actually values and is willing to buy, without oversimplifying your expertise or compromising what makes your work important.
